This is considered one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders so far. It can be the second LNG gas pump systems order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has positioned with Svanehøj in the last yr. In July 2021, Svanehøj signed a contract to provide deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).
Svanehøj quadrupled gross sales of its patented deepwell gasoline pumps in 2021, and says there are many indications that gross sales could improve even further in 2022.
“Until a few years ago, using LNG as a marine fuel was restricted to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we are actually seeing a sharp enhance in gasoline pump orders for deep sea vessels such as container ships and car carriers,” said Johnny Houmann, chief gross sales officer at Svanehøj. “We were chosen as the supplier of gas pump systems for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we aim to increase our market share additional within the coming years.”
